This represents a total of 785,121 acres of land for sale in the state (accounting for roughly two percent of land in the state). Of the 93 counties in the state, Scotts Bluff County had the most land and acreage for sale. The most expensive land listed for sale in Nebraska on Lands of America recently was $42 million, while the average price of land and rural real estate for sale in Nebraska was $2 million. There were 2,482 acres of sold land in Nebraska recorded in October 2018 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects an increase in sales activity over data from August 2018. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $7 million. Scotts Bluff County had the most land sales recently in the state. Of the nearly 800,000 acres of public lands in Nebraska, approximately 2 percent is open to hunting. Most hunting in the state takes place on private lands.
